Season the Pork
In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and brown sugar. Rub this spice mixture all over the pork shoulder, ensuring even coverage. Wrap the seasoned pork in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

Take the pork shoulder out of the refrigerator about 30 minutes before cooking to allow it to come to room temperature.

Prepare the Cooking Liquid
In a bowl, combine apple cider vinegar, chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, and liquid smoke. Stir well to mix.

Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Pour the cooking liquid over the pork. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the pork is tender and shreds easily with a fork.
