Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Roasted Tomato Dip
Method
Grilled Cheese Sandwich
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Grate the aged cheddar cheese and set aside. Take the Tuscan francese bread slices out and ensure they are ready for assembly.
- 2
Butter the Bread
Spread 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
- 3
Assemble the Sandwich
Place grated aged cheddar cheese between two slices of bread, with the buttered sides facing out.
- 4
Roasted Tomato Dip
- 5
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- 6
Prepare the Tomatoes
Wash and core the ripe tomatoes, then cut them in half. Place them cut side up on a baking sheet.
- 7
Add Garlic and Seasoning
Peel and slice the garlic cloves, then distribute them evenly over the tomatoes. Drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle salt and black pepper over the top.
- 8
Roast the Tomatoes
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for about 25-30 minutes, until the tomatoes are soft and caramelized.
- 9
Blend the Dip
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Transfer the roasted tomatoes and garlic to a blender or food processor, add the basil leaves, and blend until smooth. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
