Method

Preparing the Salad

  1. 1

    Wash and Prepare Lettuce

Rinse the romaine lettuce under cold water. Shake off excess water and pat dry with a paper towel. Tear the lettuce leaves into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large salad bowl.

Making Croutons

  1. 2

    Cut and Season Bread

Cut the bread into 1-inch cubes. In a mixing bowl, combine the bread cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss until the bread is evenly coated.

  2. 3

    Bake Croutons

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread the seasoned bread cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes, stirring halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool.

Assembling the Salad

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

Once the croutons are cool, add them to the bowl with the romaine lettuce. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top.

  2. 5

    Serve

Toss the salad gently to combine all ingredients. Serve immediately as a refreshing side or main dish.
