Base Ingredients

Mascarpone Mixture

Toppings

Method

Preparation of Coffee

  1. 1

    Brew the Espresso

Prepare 1 cup of strong espresso coffee using your preferred method. Allow it to cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Add Sugar

Once the espresso is warm, stir in 1 cup of granulated sugar until dissolved. Set aside to cool completely.

Mascarpone Mixture

  1. 3

    Whip the Cream

In a mixing bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form. Set aside in the refrigerator.

  2. 4

    Mix Egg Yolks and Sugar

In another bowl, whisk together 4 egg yolks and 1 cup of granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy.

  3. 5

    Combine Mascarpone

Add 500 grams of mascarpone cheese and 1 tsp of vanilla extract to the egg yolk mixture. Mix until smooth and well combined.

  4. 6

    Fold in Whipped Cream

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated, being careful not to deflate the whipped cream.

Assembling the Tiramisu

  1. 7

    Soak the Ladyfingers

Quickly dip 24 ladyfingers into the cooled espresso mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 8

    Layer the Ingredients

In a rectangular dish, layer half of the soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.

  3. 9

    Repeat Layers

Repeat the process with another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.

  4. 10

    Chill

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best flavor.

Finishing Touches

  1. 11

    Dust with Cocoa Powder

Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder.

  2. 12

    Garnish

Sprinkle dark chocolate shavings (50 grams) over the top for a decorative finish.
