Method

Preparing the Prawns

  1. 1

    Boil the Prawns

In a large pot, bring 1 liter of water to a boil. Add 1 tsp of salt and the prawns. Cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque.

  2. 2

    Drain and Cool

Once cooked, drain the prawns and transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Drain Again

Remove the prawns from the ice water and drain them well. Pat dry with paper towels.

  4. 4

    Add Lemon Juice

Drizzle 2 tablespoons of lemon juice over the prawns and toss gently to coat.

Making the Cocktail Sauce

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of mayonnaise, 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of horseradish sauce, 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper.

  2. 6

    Mix Well

Stir the mixture well until all ingredients are fully combined and smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Assembling the Dish

  1. 7

    Prepare Serving Plates

On individual serving plates, arrange 1-2 lettuce leaves as a bed for the prawns.

  2. 8

    Add Prawns

Place the prepared prawns on top of the lettuce leaves.

  3. 9

    Serve with Sauce

Spoon the cocktail sauce generously over the prawns or serve it on the side for dipping.

  4. 10

    Garnish

Garnish with lemon wedges on the side for an extra touch of freshness.
