Bruschetta Base

Method

Prepare the Bread

  1. 1

    Slice the Baguette

Cut the French baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices on a diagonal.

  2. 2

    Toast the Bread

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the sliced baguette on a baking sheet. Brush each slice with olive oil and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.

  3. 3

    Add Garlic

Once toasted, rub the tops of the bread slices with the cut side of the garlic cloves for added flavor.

Prepare the Tomato Topping

  1. 4

    Chop the Tomatoes

Dice the Roma tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 5

    Add Basil and Seasoning

Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl with the tomatoes. Pour in the balsamic vinegar, sprinkle with salt and black pepper, and gently mix to combine.

Assemble the Bruschetta

  1. 6

    Top the Toast

Spoon the tomato and basil mixture generously onto each toasted baguette slice.

  2. 7

    Serve Immediately

Serve the bruschetta immediately as an appetizer or snack, and enjoy!
