Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mashed Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes. Boil them in salted water until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and mash with butter and milk until creamy. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Sirloin

Season the sirloin steak with salt and black pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a bit of oil. Sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Remove from the skillet and let rest.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Seafood Topping

In the same skillet, add butter and minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant. Add shrimp and cook until pink, about 2 minutes. Add rock crab meat and whiskey, and simmer for a few minutes. Stir in heavy cream and Old Bay seasoning, cooking until slightly thickened.

  4. 4

    Cook the Vegetables

Sauté the seasonal vegetables in the skillet with a little butter until tender.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Plate the Dish

On a plate, create a bed of garlic mashed potatoes. Place the cooked sirloin steak on top and generously spoon the seafood topping over the steak. Arrange seasonal vegetables on the side.
