Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Mussels

Rinse the mussels under cold water. Use a brush to scrub the shells and remove any barnacles. Discard any mussels that are open and do not close when tapped.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Garlic Butter

Mince the garlic cloves finely. In a small bowl, mix together the minced garlic and softened unsalted butter until well combined.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Sauté Garlic

In a large pot or Dutch oven, melt the garlic butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

  2. 4

    Add Wine and Mussels

Pour in the dry white wine and bring to a simmer. Add the cleaned mussels to the pot and cover with a lid. Cook for 5-7 minutes, shaking the pot occasionally, until the mussels have opened.

  3. 5

    Season and Serve

Once the mussels are cooked, season with salt and black pepper to taste. Remove from heat, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve immediately with crusty bread to soak up the broth.
