Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Cream the Butter and Sugars

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

  2. 2

    Add Vanilla and Combine

Mix in the vanilla extract until well combined.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the all-purpose flour, salt, and chopped pecans to the mixture, stirring until a dough forms.

  4. 4

    Chill the Dough

Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm up.

  5. 5

    Form the Balls

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Once chilled, scoop out dough and roll into 1-inch balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  6. 6

    Bake

Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.

Salted Caramel Sauce Preparation

  1. 7

    Melt the Sugar

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the granulated sugar until it turns a deep amber color, stirring constantly.

  2. 8

    Add Butter

Once the sugar has melted, add the unsalted butter and mix well until melted.

  3. 9

    Add Cream and Salt

Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring continuously. Add the sea salt and mix until fully combined. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Hot Fudge Sauce Preparation

  1. 10

    Combine Sugar and Cocoa

In a saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and unsweetened cocoa powder.

  2. 11

    Add Butter and Cream

Add the unsalted butter and heavy cream to the dry mixture. Cook over low heat, stirring until the mixture is smooth and heated through.

  3. 12

    Finish with Vanilla

Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let cool slightly before serving.

Assembly

  1. 13

    Drizzle Sauces

Place the cooled pecan balls on a serving plate. Drizzle generously with salted caramel sauce and hot fudge sauce.

  2. 14
