Method
Pasta Preparation
- 1
Cook Fettuccine
In a large pot of salted boiling water, add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. This usually takes about 8-10 minutes.
Broccoli Preparation
- 2
Blanch Broccoli
In the last 3 minutes of cooking the fettuccine, add the broccoli florets to the pot. This will blanch the broccoli until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain the pasta and broccoli together and set aside.
Alfredo Sauce Preparation
- 3
Make Alfredo Sauce
In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Combine and Serve
- 4
Mix Pasta and Sauce
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked fettuccine and broccoli with the Alfredo sauce. Toss gently until all ingredients are well coated.
- 5
Serve
Divide the Broccoli Alfredo into bowls or plates. Optionally, garnish with extra Parmesan cheese and black pepper before serving.
