Hot Fries
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips to create French fries.
- 2
Soak the Potatoes
Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and makes the fries crispier.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large deep frying pan or pot, pour in the vegetable oil and heat it over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Drain and Dry the Fries
After 30 minutes, drain the soaked fries and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- 5
Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add the dried fries to the hot oil in batches. Fry them for about 5-7 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
- 6
Season the Fries
While the fries are still hot, season them with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
- 7
Garnish and Serve
Sprinkle the hot fries with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese before serving. Enjoy!
