Method
Prep
- 1
Toast the bread
Lightly toast the cut sides of the sandwich rolls until golden to add texture and prevent sogginess.
- 2
Prepare vegetables
Wash the lettuce; pat dry. Slice tomatoes and red onion if not already pre-sliced.
Assemble fillings
- 3
Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on the inside of each roll half. If using mustard, spread on the opposite side.
- 4
Layer in order: provolone cheese on the bottom half, followed by slices of turkey, ham, and crispy bacon.
- 5
Top with tomato slices, red onion, and a handful of torn romaine lettuce.
Finish and serve
- 6
Close the sandwich with the top half of the roll. Press lightly to compact.
- 7
If desired, secure with a toothpick and cut the sandwich into halves or triangles for serving.
