Cook the Bacon
In a large pot over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove from pot and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the pot.

Add Potatoes and Broth
Add the diced potatoes and chicken broth to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.

Add Clams and Cream
Stir in the chopped clams and heavy cream. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Season and Serve
Return the cooked bacon to the pot and season with cracked black pepper to taste. Serve hot with fresh scallions and house crackers.
