Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the active dry yeast over the water and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dough Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Once the yeast mixture is frothy, add it along with the olive oil to the flour mixture.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Mix until a dough forms and then knead on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Pizza Assembly

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  2. 6

    Shape the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into two equal portions. Roll out each portion on a floured surface to your desired thickness.

  3. 7

    Add Sauce and Toppings

Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread pizza sauce evenly over the base, then sprinkle mozzarella cheese, followed by pepperoni, bell peppers, black olives, and a sprinkle of Italian seasoning.

  4. 8

    Bake the Pizza

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

  5. 9

    Garnish and Serve

Once baked, remove from the oven and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
