Method

Crust Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Crust

In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and granulated sugar. Pour the melted butter into the crumb mixture and mix until evenly combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Crust

Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish. Ensure the crust is compact to hold the filling.

  3. 3

    Bake the Crust

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the crust for about 10 minutes, then remove and let it cool completely.

Filling Preparation

  1. 4

    Beat the Cream Cheese

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.

  2. 5

    Add Sugar and Flavorings

Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, continuing to beat until well combined and fluffy.

  3. 6

    Whip the Cream

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

  4. 7

    Fold in Ingredients

Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until fully incorporated. Then, fold in the chopped nuts, nutmeg, and cinnamon.

  5. 8

    Fill the Crust

Pour the filling into the cooled crust, spreading it evenly. Smooth the top with a spatula.

Topping Preparation

  1. 9

    Prepare the Topping

Refrigerate the pie for at least 4 hours, or until set. Once set, top the pie with whipped cream, and sprinkle with additional chopped nuts and ground cinnamon to taste.

  2. 10

    Serve

Slice the Nutcracker Pie and serve chilled as a delightful dessert.
