Preparation of Topping

Dice the Tomatoes
Wash and dice the fresh tomatoes into small pieces. Place them in a mixing bowl.

Chop the Basil
Wash the fresh basil leaves and chop them finely. Add them to the bowl with tomatoes.

Add Garlic
Peel and finely mince the garlic cloves. Add the minced garlic to the bowl.

Season the Mixture
Pour the balsamic vinegar over the tomato and basil mixture. Add salt and pepper to taste. Mix everything gently to combine.
Preparing the Bread

Slice the Bread
Slice the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick slices.

Toast the Bread
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet and brush them lightly with olive oil on both sides. Toast them in the oven for about 5-7 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Top the Toasted Bread
Remove the toasted bread from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato and basil mixture generously onto each slice of toasted bread.

Arrange the bruschetta on a serving platter and enjoy immediately while the bread is still warm.
