Chowder Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Base

In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and celery, and sauté until they are soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Sprinkle the flour over the sautéed vegetables and cook for an additional 2 minutes, stirring continuously to form a roux.

  3. 3

    Add Broth and Potatoes

Gradually whisk in the chicken or vegetable broth, ensuring there are no lumps. Add the diced potatoes and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer for about 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.

  4. 4

    Stir in Clams and Cream

Once the potatoes are tender, stir in the drained clams, heavy cream, and Alpine Touch seasoning. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the chowder to thicken. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  5. 5

    Serve

Ladle the chowder into bowls and garnish with chopped fresh parsley. Serve hot with crusty bread or crackers.
