For the Gluay Tod
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, rice flour, baking powder, sugar, and coconut milk. Mix until smooth and set aside.
- 2
Prepare the Bananas
Peel the bananas and cut them in half lengthwise. You can leave them whole or cut them into smaller pieces if desired.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the oil over medium heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Fry the Bananas
Dip each banana piece into the batter, allowing excess to drip off, then carefully place it in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
- 5
Drain and Coat
Once fried, remove the bananas from the oil and drain on paper towels. Drizzle honey over the hot bananas while they are still warm.
- 6
Serve
Serve the honey-covered fried bananas warm with two scoops of your favorite ice cream on top.
