1. Prepare the Dry Rub

In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, cayenne pepper, dried thyme, and dried oregano. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

2. Apply the Rub

Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Generously apply the dry rub to both sides of the steak, pressing it into the meat. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes at room temperature to allow the flavors to penetrate.

3. Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a little oil to prevent sticking.

4. Cook the Steak

Place the steak on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer for your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature (130°F for medium-rare).

5. Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.
