Method

Preparation of the Pork Shoulder

  1. 1

    Season the Pork

Rub the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder evenly on all sides. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes at room temperature or refrigerate for up to 4 hours for maximum flavor.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) to prepare for slow roasting the pork.

Cooking the Pork Shoulder

  1. 3

    Roast the Pork

Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a roasting pan and cover it with aluminum foil. Roast in the preheated oven for about 3-4 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily pulls apart with a fork.

  2. 4

    Rest the Meat

Once cooked, remove the pork from the oven and let it rest uncovered for about 20 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.

Preparing the Sauce

  1. 5

    Mix the Sauce Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine the barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, honey, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until well blended.

Serving

  1. 6

    Slice and Serve

Using a sharp knife, slice the rested pork shoulder into thin pieces. Serve the slices on a platter, drizzling the prepared sauce over the top. Optionally, garnish with fresh parsley and serve with pickles on the side.
