Method
Brisket Preparation
- 1
Season the Brisket
Rub the beef brisket all over with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Make sure the seasoning is evenly coated.
- 2
Sear the Brisket
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sear the brisket on all sides until browned, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- 3
Cook the Brisket
Transfer the seared brisket to a slow cooker. Pour beef broth over the brisket. Cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the meat is tender and easily shredded.
- 4
Slice the Brisket
Once cooked, remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for 15 minutes. Slice the brisket against the grain into thin slices.
Sandwich Assembly
- 5
Prepare the Sandwich Rolls
Slice the sandwich rolls in half and lightly toast them if desired.
- 6
Assemble the Sandwich
On the bottom half of each roll, layer sliced brisket, a drizzle of barbecue sauce, pickles, onions, and shredded cheddar cheese. Top with the other half of the roll.
- 7
Serve
Serve the brisket sandwiches warm with extra barbecue sauce on the side.
