Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a large bowl, combine minced garlic, brown sugar, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, black pepper, salt, smoked paprika, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Whisk the ingredients together until the brown sugar is dissolved and the marinade is well blended.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Brisket

Place the brisket in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the brisket, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

  2. 4

    Sear the Brisket

Remove the brisket from the marinade and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, sear the brisket for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned.

  3. 5

    Bake the Brisket

Once seared, pour the beef broth into the skillet with the brisket. Cover the skillet tightly with aluminum foil and transfer it to the preheated oven. Bake for 3-4 hours, or until the brisket is tender and easily pulls apart with a fork.

  4. 6

    Rest and Slice

Remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing. This helps to retain the juices.

  5. 7

    Serve

Slice the brisket against the grain and serve warm, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
