Method

Filling Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Peaches

Wash, peel, and slice the peaches into thin wedges. Place them into a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix the Filling

Add the granulated sugar, lemon juice, ground cinnamon, and flour to the bowl with the peaches. Toss gently until the peaches are evenly coated with the mixture.

Topping Preparation

  1. 3

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well mixed.

  2. 4

    Add Wet Ingredients

Pour in the milk and melted butter (melt the butter in a microwave or on the stovetop). Stir until just combined; do not overmix.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Layer the Filling

Pour the peach filling into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

  3. 7

    Add Topping

Spoon the batter over the peach filling evenly. It may not cover all the peaches completely, which is fine.

  4. 8

    Bake the Cobbler

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-40 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the topping comes out clean.

  5. 9

    Cool and Serve

Remove the cobbler from the oven and let it cool for at least 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
