Method
Preparing the Half Chicken
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and place it in a roasting pan.
- 2
Season the Chicken
In a small bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Rub this mixture all over the chicken, ensuring it is evenly coated.
- 3
Roast the Chicken
Place the chicken in the preheated oven. Roast for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Baste the chicken with its juices halfway through cooking.
- 4
Rest the Chicken
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before carving.
Making the Creamy Coleslaw
- 5
Combine Vegetables
In a large bowl, combine the shredded green cabbage and grated carrot.
- 6
Prepare the Dressing
In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
- 7
Mix Together
Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrot mixture. Toss well to combine and coat the vegetables evenly.
- 8
Chill the Coleslaw
Cover the coleslaw and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
Serving the Dish
- 9
Prepare the Rolls
Warm the Hawaiian rolls in the oven for about 5 minutes or until slightly toasted.
- 10
Plate the Meal
