Method

Preparation of Vegetables

  1. 1

    Shred the Cabbage

Remove the outer leaves of the green cabbage, cut it in half, and then slice it into thin strips using a sharp knife or a mandoline. You should have about 4 cups of shredded cabbage.

  2. 2

    Grate the Carrots

Peel the carrots and then grate them using a box grater or a food processor. You should have about 2 cups of grated carrots.

Making the Dressing

  1. 3

    Combine the Dressing Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of celery seed, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Whisk together until smooth and well blended.

Tossing the Coleslaw

  1. 4

    Mix Vegetables with Dressing

Add the shredded cabbage and grated carrots to the bowl with the dressing. Toss everything together until the cabbage and carrots are evenly coated with the dressing.

  2. 5

    Chill the Coleslaw

Cover the coleslaw with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Serve chilled.
