Brisket

Serving

Method

Brisket

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brisket

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Season the brisket generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika on all sides.

  2. 2

    Sear the Brisket

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sear the brisket on both sides until browned (about 4-5 minutes per side). Transfer to a roasting pan.

  3. 3

    Add Liquid Ingredients

In the same skillet, deglaze the pan with beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and liquid smoke. Pour this mixture over the brisket in the roasting pan.

  4. 4

    Cover and Cook

Cover the roasting pan tightly with aluminum foil and place it in the oven. Cook for 4-5 hours, or until the brisket is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

  5. 5

    Rest the Brisket

Remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for 30 minutes before slicing.

Creamy Coleslaw

  1. 6

    Combine Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and carrots.

  2. 7

    Mix Dressing

In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.

  3. 8

    Toss to Combine

Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots. Toss until all the vegetables are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Serving

  1. 9

    Prepare for Serving

Slice the brisket against the grain and serve it on Hawaiian rolls. Accompany with creamy coleslaw and your choice of side dish.
