Method

Prepare the Steak

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the ribeye steak dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

In a skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add the cubed ribeye steak. Sear for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Cook the Rice

  1. 3

    Rinse the Rice

In a fine mesh strainer, rinse the long-grain white rice under cold water until the water runs clear.

  2. 4

    Cook the Rice

In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice and water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for another 5 minutes.

  3. 5

    Add Soy Sauce

Fluff the rice with a fork and stir in the soy sauce until evenly distributed.

Prepare Vegetables

  1. 6

    Chop Vegetables

While the rice is cooking, chop the bell peppers and onion. Mince the garlic.

  2. 7

    Sauté Vegetables

In the same skillet used for the steak, add the chopped bell peppers, onion, and minced garlic. Sauté over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes or until the vegetables are tender.

Combine and Serve

  1. 8

    Combine Ingredients

Add the cooked steak back to the skillet with the sautéed vegetables. Drizzle with sesame oil and sprinkle with red pepper flakes. Stir to combine and heat through.

  2. 9

    Serve

Serve the steak and vegetable mixture over a bed of soy sauce-flavored rice. Garnish with chopped green onions.
