Method

Preparing the Udon

  1. 1

    Cook the Udon Noodles

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the udon noodles and cook according to the package instructions (usually around 8-10 minutes). Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

  2. 2

    Drain and Rinse

Once cooked, drain the noodles in a colander and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside.

Cooking the Salmon

  1. 3

    Season the Salmon

Season the salmon fillet with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 4

    Heat the Olive Oil

In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.

  3. 5

    Cook the Salmon

Once the oil is hot, add the salmon fillet to the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Remove from heat and set aside.

Making Garlic Butter

  1. 6

    Melt the Butter

In the same skillet used for the salmon, reduce heat to low and add butter.

  2. 7

    Add Garlic

Once the butter is melted, add minced garlic (finely chopped or pressed) and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Assembling the Dish

  1. 8

    Combine Noodles and Corn

In a large bowl, combine the cooked udon noodles and sweet corn. Pour the garlic butter over the top and mix gently to combine.

  2. 9

    Plate the Dish

Divide the noodle and corn mixture into bowls. Top each bowl with the cooked salmon fillet.

  3. 10

    Add Toppings

Finely slice the green onions and sprinkle them over the salmon and noodles as a fresh garnish.
