Method

Pork Belly Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Pork

In a bowl, combine the Kurabuta pork belly with salt, black pepper, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix well to ensure the pork is evenly coated in the seasoning.

  2. 2

    Cook the Pork

In a skillet over medium-high heat, add the seasoned pork belly. Sear on all sides until golden brown and cooked through, about 15-20 minutes. Remove from heat and let rest before slicing.

Rice Cooking

  1. 3

    Rinse the Rice

Rinse the white rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.

  2. 4

    Cook the Rice

In a pot, combine the rinsed rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and water is absorbed. Fluff with a fork.

Toppings Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare Garlic Butter

In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat.

  2. 6

    Prepare Green Onions and Corn

Chop the green onions and set aside. If using frozen corn, thaw it; if using canned corn, drain and rinse.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Assemble the Dish

In a serving bowl, add a portion of cooked rice. Top with sliced pork belly, a drizzle of garlic butter, corn, and sprinkle with chopped green onions.
