Method
Preparing the Rice
- 1
Rinse and Cook Rice
Rinse the white rice under cold water until the water runs clear. In a medium pot, combine the rinsed rice, 4 cups of water, and 1 tsp of salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.
Cooking the Beef
- 2
Sear the Beef
While the rice is cooking, slice the beef sirloin into thin strips. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a little oil. Once hot, add the beef strips in a single layer. Sear for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
Making Garlic Butter
- 3
Prepare Garlic Butter
In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter and minced garlic. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the garlic is fragrant and slightly golden, being careful not to burn.
