Prepare the Toppings
Dice the fresh tomatoes and place them in a medium bowl. Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl with tomatoes.

Season the Mixture
Drizzle 2 tablespoons of olive oil over the tomatoes and basil. Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the mixture. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Mix well and set aside to let the flavors meld.
Grilling the Bread

Prepare the Bread
Slice the baguette or rustic bread into 1-inch thick slices.

Grill the Bread
Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Brush both sides of each slice of bread with the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Grill the bread slices for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and have grill marks.

Top the Bread
Once the bread is grilled, remove it from the grill and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato and basil mixture generously onto each slice of grilled bread.

Serve the bruschetta immediately while the bread is still warm. Enjoy!
