Directions

  1. 1

    Preparing the clams

Rinse the clams under cold water to remove any sand or grit, then place them in a bowl of fresh water to soak for about 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Sautéing the garlic

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  3. 3

    Cooking the clams

Add the soaked clams to the skillet. Pour in the white soy sauce and stir to combine. Cover the skillet and let the clams steam for about 5-7 minutes or until they have opened.

  4. 4

    Adding hijiki

Once the clams are open, add the soaked hijiki seaweed to the skillet. Stir gently to combine and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

  5. 5

    Finishing touches

Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle with chopped parsley. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
