Cooking Instructions
Cook the Pasta
In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the bow-tie penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced chicken breast and season with salt and black pepper. Cook until the chicken is browned and cooked through, about 7-10 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Sauté Vegetables
In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and red bell pepper. Sauté for about 5 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.
Make the Vodka Sauce
Pour in the vodka and let it simmer for about 2 minutes, allowing the alcohol to cook off. Stir in the canned diced tomatoes and red pepper flakes. Simmer for another 5 minutes.
Combine and Serve
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and let everything heat through for another 2-3 minutes. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to combine. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
