Baked Pasta Ingredients

Method

Baked Pasta Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pasta

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Mix the Cheese Filling

In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, eggs, half of the mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine with Sauce

In a separate bowl, mix the cooked pasta with the marinara sauce and the ricotta mixture until the pasta is evenly coated.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Dish

In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer half of the pasta mixture. Sprinkle half of the remaining mozzarella and half of the Parmesan cheese on top. Add the remaining pasta and top with the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

  5. 5

    Bake

Drizzle olive oil over the top and cover the dish with aluminum foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

  6. 6

    Serve

Let the baked pasta rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm, garnished with extra basil if desired.
