Method

Burger Patties Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each into a patty about ¾ inch thick. Use your thumb to create a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

House-Made Sauce Preparation

  1. 3

    Mix the Sauce Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, chopped fresh basil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

  2. 4

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning as needed. Set aside.

Cooking and Assembly

  1. 5

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

  2. 6

    Toast the Buns

During the last minute of cooking, place the burger buns cut side down on the grill or skillet to toast lightly.

  3. 7

    Assemble the Burgers

Spread a generous amount of house-made sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty, sliced tomato, and onion. Top with the other half of the bun.

  4. 8

    Serve

Serve the Tuscan burgers immediately with your favorite side dishes.
