Method

Preparation of Dry Ingredients

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

Preparation of Wet Ingredients

  1. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth and well blended.

Combining Ingredients

  1. 3

    Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients

Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Gently stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.

Cooking the Pancakes

  1. 4

    Heat the Pan

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter or oil.

  2. 5

    Cook the Pancakes

Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve the Pancakes

Serve the pancakes warm, topped with a pat of butter and a drizzle of maple syrup to taste.
