Prepare the Onions
Peel the large onions and slice them into thick rings. Separate the rings and set them aside.

Make the Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until smooth.

Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Fry the Onion Rings
Carefully drop the coated onion rings into the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
