Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brussels Sprouts

Trim the ends off the Brussels sprouts and remove any yellow or damaged outer leaves. Cut each sprout in half lengthwise.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Remove the bacon from the skillet and place on paper towels to drain. Reserve about 2 tablespoons of bacon grease in the skillet.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Sauté Brussels Sprouts

In the same skillet with the reserved bacon grease, add the halved Brussels sprouts. Drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and black pepper, and sauté for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown and tender.

  2. 4

    Prepare Balsamic Reduction

In a small saucepan, combine the balsamic vinegar and honey. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture has reduced by half and has thickened slightly.

  3. 5

    Combine Ingredients

Crumble the cooked bacon and add it back to the skillet with the Brussels sprouts. Drizzle the balsamic reduction over the Brussels sprouts and bacon, tossing everything to combine well.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate and Serve

Transfer the Brussels sprouts and bacon to a serving dish. Drizzle any remaining balsamic reduction on top and serve immediately.
