Method

Preparing the Tea

  1. 1

    Boil the Water

In a medium-sized pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Steep the Tea

Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and add 4 tablespoons of Thai tea leaves. Let it steep for about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Strain the Tea

After steeping, strain the tea leaves using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a heatproof container, discarding the leaves.

  4. 4

    Sweeten the Tea

While the tea is still warm, stir in 2 tablespoons of sugar until fully dissolved. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature.

Preparing the Cream

  1. 5

    Mix the Cream

In a small bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of condensed milk and 1 tablespoon of evaporated milk. Mix well until combined.

Serving the Thai Iced Tea

  1. 6

    Assemble the Drink

In a glass, add 2 cups of ice cubes. Pour the cooled Thai tea over the ice until the glass is about 2/3 full.

  2. 7

    Add the Cream

Top the tea with the milk mixture prepared earlier. Stir gently to combine before serving.

  3. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Optionally, garnish with a sprig of mint or a slice of lime for added flavor. Serve immediately.
