Method

Cooking Sticky Rice

  1. 1

    Soak the Rice

Rinse 1 cup of glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.

  2. 2

    Steam the Rice

Drain the soaked rice and place it in a steamer basket lined with cheesecloth. Steam over boiling water for about 30 minutes, or until the rice is tender and sticky.

  3. 3

    Add Salt

Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a bowl and mix in 1 tsp of salt. Stir well and let it cool slightly.

Making Coconut Sauce

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of coconut milk, 1 tbsp of sugar, and 1 tsp of salt.

  2. 5

    Heat the Sauce

Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring until the sugar and salt are dissolved. Do not let it boil. Once combined, remove from heat and set aside.

Preparing Mango

  1. 6

    Slice the Mango

Peel the ripe mangoes and slice them into thin strips or wedges.

Assembly and Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

On a serving plate, place a portion of the sticky rice and drizzle with the coconut sauce. Arrange the sliced mango on top.

  2. 8

    Garnish

Sprinkle sesame seeds or mung beans on top for garnish. Serve warm or at room temperature.
