Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning on both sides.
- 2
Breading the Chicken
Set up a breading station: Place flour in one shallow dish, beaten eggs in another, and mix breadcrumbs with grated Parmesan cheese in a third. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip into the eggs, and then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
Cooking
- 3
Cook the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat about 1/4 inch of oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Transfer to a baking dish.
- 4
Add Sauce and Cheese
Pour marinara sauce over the chicken breasts in the baking dish. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the chicken is cooked through.
Cooking the Pasta
- 5
Boil the Pasta
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Assembly
- 6
Assemble the Bowl
In serving bowls, place a scoop of cooked pasta, top with the baked chicken parm, and drizzle with extra marinara sauce if desired. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
