Main Ingredients

For Grilling

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cole Slaw

In a bowl, mix the cole slaw mix with 2 tablespoons of Thousand Island dressing. Set aside to let the flavors meld.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Bread

Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of marble rye bread. This will ensure a golden-brown crust when grilled.

Assembling the Sandwich

  1. 3

    Layer the Ingredients

On the unbuttered side of two slices of marble rye, layer the sliced corned beef, followed by the Swiss cheese, and then the prepared cole slaw. Drizzle with additional Thousand Island dressing if desired.

  2. 4

    Top the Sandwich

Place the remaining two slices of marble rye on top, buttered side facing out.

Grilling

  1. 5

    Heat the Grill

Preheat a grill or a skillet over medium heat.

  2. 6

    Grill the Sandwich

Place the assembled sandwiches on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Serving

  1. 7

    Slice and Serve

Once grilled, remove the sandwiches from the heat. Allow to cool for a minute, then slice in half and serve with additional Thousand Island dressing on the side if desired.
