Buttermilk Biscuits
Method
Sausage Gravy
- 1
Prepare the Sausage
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the sausage. Cook until browned and crumbly, about 5-7 minutes.
- 2
Make the Gravy
Sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes. Slowly add the milk, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- 3
Bake the Biscuits
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the buttermilk until just combined. Turn the dough onto a floured surface, knead gently, and roll out to about 1-inch thickness. Cut into rounds and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden.

Assemble the Platter
Place the baked biscuits on a plate and generously pour the sausage gravy over the top. Serve warm.
