Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water while mixing the flour with your hands until it forms a rough dough.

  2. 2

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.

Filling Preparation

  1. 3

    Mix the Filling

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Dumpling Assembly

  1. 4

    Roll the Dough

After the dough has rested, divide it into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter). Roll each ball out into a thin circle (about 3 inches in diameter) on a floured surface.

  2. 5

    Fill the Dumplings

Place a small spoonful of the pork filling in the center of each dough circle. Be careful not to overfill.

  3. 6

    Seal the Dumplings

Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Pinch the edges together to seal tightly, ensuring no filling escapes.

Cooking

  1. 7

    Steam the Dumplings

Set up a steamer basket over boiling water. Arrange the dumplings in the steamer, making sure they don’t touch. Cover and steam for about 15-20 minutes, or until the pork is cooked through.

  2. 8

    Serve

Remove the dumplings from the steamer and serve hot with soy sauce or dipping sauce of your choice.
