Main Ingredients

Water for Steaming

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Edamame

Rinse the edamame pods under cold water to clean them. If using frozen edamame, there is no need to thaw before steaming.

Steaming

  1. 2

    Set Up the Steamer

In a large pot, pour 4 cups of water and bring it to a boil over medium-high heat. Place a steaming basket or colander over the pot, ensuring that it does not touch the water.

  2. 3

    Steam the Edamame

Add the rinsed edamame to the steaming basket. Cover the pot with a lid and steam for 5-7 minutes, or until the edamame is bright green and tender.

Serving

  1. 4

    Season and Serve

Carefully remove the steaming basket from the pot. Transfer the steamed edamame to a serving bowl and sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of sea salt. Toss gently to coat. Serve warm.
