Method

Cooking the Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the linguine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually around 8-10 minutes. Once cooked, reserve 1 cup of the pasta water and drain the rest.

Preparing the Shrimp

  1. 2

    Sauté the Garlic

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of the butter over medium heat. Once hot, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.

  2. 3

    Cook the Shrimp

Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink, then flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until fully cooked.

Combining Ingredients

  1. 4

    Mix Everything Together

Reduce the heat to low. Add the cooked linguine to the skillet with the shrimp. Pour in the reserved pasta water and the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Add lemon juice and chopped parsley, tossing everything together until well combined and heated through. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

Serving

  1. 5

    Plate and Garnish

Serve the shrimp scampi immediately, garnished with extra chopped parsley and lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the dish.
