Main Ingredients

Method

Cooking Pasta

  1. 1

    Cook the Fettuccine

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

Preparing the Sauce

  1. 2

    Make the Alfredo Sauce

In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly. Bring the mixture to a simmer and reduce heat to low.

  2. 3

    Add Cheese and Seasoning

Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.

Cooking Shrimp and Vegetables

  1. 4

    Cook the Shrimp

In a separate skillet, heat a little olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are pink and opaque. Remove from heat and set aside.

  2. 5

    Sauté Broccoli and Mushrooms

In the same skillet, add the broccoli florets and sliced mushrooms. Sauté for about 4-5 minutes until vegetables are tender.

Combining Ingredients

  1. 6

    Combine Everything

Add the cooked fettuccine to the Alfredo sauce, then stir in the sautéed shrimp, broccoli, and mushrooms. Mix until everything is well combined and heated through.

  2. 7

    Serve

Serve the Shrimp Alfredo immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese if desired.
