Scallops

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Scallops

Pat the scallops dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Mince the Garlic

Peel and mince the garlic cloves finely. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Chop the Parsley

Finely chop the fresh parsley and set aside for garnish.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

  2. 5

    Sear the Scallops

Add the scallops to the hot skillet, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Sear them for 2-3 minutes on one side until a golden brown crust forms.

  3. 6

    Flip the Scallops

Using tongs, gently flip the scallops over and sear for an additional 2-3 minutes on the other side until cooked through and opaque.

  4. 7

    Add Butter and Garlic

Reduce the heat to medium and add the unsalted butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Allow the butter to melt and foam, stirring the garlic into the butter for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

  5. 8

    Finish with Lemon

Pour in the lemon juice and stir to combine. Spoon the lemon butter over the scallops for extra flavor.

Serving

  1. 9

    Plate the Scallops

Carefully transfer the scallops to serving plates. Drizzle the lemon butter from the skillet over the scallops.

  2. 10

    Garnish

Sprinkle chopped parsley over the scallops for a fresh touch.
