Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fruits

Wash the oranges, lemons, limes, and apple thoroughly. Slice the oranges, lemons, and limes into thin rounds. Cut the apple into thin wedges or small cubes. If using strawberries, hull and slice them as well.

  2. 2

    Combine the Ingredients

In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, orange juice, and brandy. Stir gently to mix the liquids.

  3. 3

    Add the Fruits

Add the prepared fruits (oranges, lemons, limes, apple, and berries) to the pitcher. Use a wooden spoon to gently stir the mixture, ensuring that the fruits are evenly distributed.

  4. 4

    Sweeten the Sangria

Add the sugar and the cinnamon stick to the pitcher. Stir again until the sugar is completely dissolved.

  5. 5

    Chill and Serve

Refrigerate the sangria for at least 2 hours (or overnight for best results) to allow the flavors to meld. Just before serving, add the soda water or lemon-lime soda for a fizzy touch. Serve over ice and garnish with additional fruit slices if desired.
