Method

Crust Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).

  2. 2

    Combine Crust Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Mix until well combined.

  3. 3

    Form Crust

Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form an even layer.

  4. 4

    Bake Crust

Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove and let cool while preparing the filling.

Cheesecake Filling Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix Cream Cheese

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.

  2. 6

    Add Sugar and Sour Cream

Gradually add sugar and sour cream to the cream cheese, mixing until well combined.

  3. 7

    Incorporate Vanilla and Eggs

Add vanilla extract and one egg at a time, mixing well after each addition until the batter is smooth.

  4. 8

    Pour Filling

Pour the cheesecake filling over the prepared crust in the springform pan.

  5. 9

    Bake Cheesecake

Bake in the oven at 325°F (160°C) for 50-60 minutes, or until the center is set but slightly jiggly.

  6. 10

    Cool Cheesecake

Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake cool in the oven with the door slightly open for 1 hour. Then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Salted Caramel Preparation

  1. 11

    Make Caramel

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar, stirring constantly until it turns a golden amber color.

  2. 12

    Add Butter

Once the sugar is melted, carefully add the butter and stir until it’s completely melted.

  3. 13

    Incorporate Cream

Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring continuously. Allow the mixture to boil for 1 minute.

  4. 14

    Add Sea Salt

Remove from heat and stir in the sea salt. Let the caramel cool slightly.

Assembly and Serving

  1. 15

    Top Cheesecake

Remove the cheesecake from the springform pan and pour the warm salted caramel over the top.

  2. 16

    Add Walnuts

Sprinkle the chopped toasted walnuts over the caramel topping.

  3. 17

    Serve

Sprinkle additional sea salt over the top to taste. Slice and serve chilled.
